Unique Healing Systems

Traditional medicine has it’s place no doubt but it’s still very limited because its focus is not on root cause of illness. It treats symptoms with medication and attempts to fix body parts that are damaged or diseased through operation. We aren’t advanced enough in quantum physics yet to clearly understand what Deepak Chopra coined as Quantum Healing but Therapeutic Touch for example is currently being used in many US hospitals because it has a positive impact on the health of patient, despite limited research.

In general more and more people have been seeking out alternative therapies to remedy their dis-eases since a large portion of the population became dependant on western medicine, especially those dis-eases that can’t be diagnosed by medical science or have been diagnosed but due to the heavy side effects of medication prescribed are looking for alternatives to heal themselves. Another issue is that once you get on medication, for let’s say high blood pressure, you’re usually on it for life, in general medication is a band-aide. There are many documented cases of people healing diseases such as Aids and Cancer with alternative therapies, ones that have no negative side effects but they are limited in research funding and certainly not backed by the government. These are the cases that I’ve always been interested in learning more about. Aren’t you?

Let’s face it though, much of what we suffer from that slowly degrades into disease can be healed through very basic life-style changes, often changes we lack the discipline to make, such as eating well, getting enough exercise and sleep, consuming less toxins (moderate alcohol consumption) and a good dose of laugher. Many studies have proven that our emotions effect the health of our cells and either increase our immune functioning or diminish it. So yes, keeping your vibe up is a real thing.

I love to try alternative therapies even if I haven’t suffered physically for too long from anything major. My main interest has always been about psychological health, how to maintain a happy disposition in the face of adversity, life’s inevitable pains, despite all the atrocities and injustices we see in the world and how helpless we can feel to them. If you’re a sensitive person, you know that what’s happening around you can more easily be absorbed on a psychological level, which can often lead to psychosomatic symptoms in the body. Not just effecting the nervous system, as with high anxiety levels but bleeding into other areas of the body and causing migraines or other forms of chronic pain.

Recently when I traveled down to San Marcos in Guatemala I booked a session with a crystal healer, medic intuitive and regression therapist to see what she was all about. She’d been practicing for 30 years and when she spoke to two of the women I was with, she gave them both accurate information about their lives, wellbeing and physical health status. Any metaphysical practitioner or quantum healer that can provide you with some valid feed back in 15 minutes of speaking with you definitely warrant a visit in my books, simply out of curiosity as to how they structure their sessions.

What I like about healers that have developed their own systems over time is that they use years of study from various fields of discipline and cultures mixed in with their own natural gifts and abilities to piece together a unique offering that you can’t find anywhere else, which inevitably leads you to a unique perspective on your healing journey. As far as I’m concerned, healing is an inside job and is a natural part of existence, present as a tool for greater understanding of the self and something many of us must expand through.

Tantamount, wise healers have understood that they’re simply holding space for the client to do their own healing work. They can offer a path, a gateway, tools, perspectives, insights, light, love, laughter but they can not heal the person. Even if we work on the person’s physical body and make adjustments to bring it back into balance, if the root cause isn’t addressed, the body eventually falls back out of balance.

This is the most important thing a healer first needs to understand. The placebo effect has such a high success rate that sure, if a practitioner has done well in setting up a good experience and has attracted clients that were ready to heal, they might develop an excellent reputation over time, which is 80% of the work because the placebo effect has been proven to work aprox 80% of the time in clinical studies. This is why I believe Saints have had the able to perform miracles, the belief of the person receiving the healing was so strong that the conditions for healing could occur and healing happened, all within the microcosm of our belief systems.

Merrill Storm, the healer in San Marcos devised a system that was very effective in creating a space where the client could more easily see for themselves the possible cause of illness, stress or dis-ease they may be suffering through, using a multi-layered system, based both on reasoning and metaphysical assessment. Addressing the physical body and the unseen layers of our being.

First was an intuitive reading that she does the night before in mediation on the client which leaks into her dreamtime that night to reveal more information, something she has been tuning into and developing over the course of her life. She uses this as the framework to chose the crystals she should work with during the first part of her session, which is ALL about crystals. She asks that you chose two crystals out of hundreds of options in her office and then begins to grid them using sacred geometry over the body. I’ve never had that many crystals on my body before and some of them were very rare crystals that are difficult to find but that I’ve heard where powerful. I was really surprised by all the shocks and tingles they created in my nervous system.

Before she asked me to lie down to grid the crystals on me, we went over my medical history and my family’s medical history. In her questionnaire she also asks basic life-style questions, ones that highlight any areas you can improve upon, such as mentioned above with the basics. Often it’s the simple reminders that we need to hear the most.

After the laying of crystals, she began to work on my chakras energetically. I always know when someone is actually penetrating my energetic field because it usually evokes a vocal response from me or a type of gasping for air as they initially enter my field. Very few energy workers I’ve seen in session really know how to work with energy in a tangible way. Many are mostly in the learning phases of energy manipulation.

After balancing my chakras, she sat back down to add notes to the ones from the previous night. Following this she worked on my immune system, using a ball to roll over the superficial tissue of the body following the lymphatic vessels and massaging the nodes lightly. She included basic acupressure to activate the smaller chakra points in the body called nadis. Following this she did some more energetic work, this time specifically on my brain and head area, including slight physical maneuvers. This is also a good indication for me about an intuitive, when they can pick up on a that part of my brain that was damaged in childhood.

Now what she did next I thought was really interesting, working from my feet moving up she scanned my body using a system similar to reading age lines on a tree, stopping at specific parts and asking what might have occurred at that age, what traumatic event might have happened that left an impact. What I liked about this strategy is that any traumas or unintegrated events around that age that haven’t been fully integrated will be automatically spoken. The things that were just sitting at the surface waiting for an opportunity to be seen will come to mind and can then in turn shine the light of awareness on possible thought patterns and conditioning that are still currently linked to that event. Ironically it wasn’t the things I would have thought to mention, so it’s wasn’t like a rehearsal of my life stories. What came up were more subtle events that I hadn’t remembered in a long time but that relate strongly to why I have certain lens of perception still in place, creating a conditioned mind.

Then she ended the session with a guided meditation after she put me under light hypnosis. I was completely awake because she kept on checking in with me to see if I was conscious by asking me if I was with her but my awareness had completely left the room. She guided me to connect with the earth, my higher self and to go to my sacred space in the cosmos. From there she guided me to connect each chakra to each colour of the rainbow. She helped me balance the feminine and masculine energies within all while asking questions about what messages I was receiving, which she would note down for me to read later.

As I came out of the meditative state I felt a little ungrounded but very calm and in harmony with my environment. She then finished the session by going over all the discoveries I had made through her questions during the session. She also gave me her feed back on her medical reading, which spirit animals I was working with and which guides of mine had come through to her. She knew about my Lakota guide and was bang on with all the other energies that I have been working consciously with for some years. She also shed light on some of the more karmic experience I’ve had to go through without me having to speak on the subject first. All in all I left her studio feeling so full with fresh material to play with as I continue on my journey of self-discovery and healing.

Healing systems are essential for any one working in the dealings of healings and I highly recommend using your own natural medicine to lead the way as you collect tools from other systems that have worked for centuries. Reiki has now flooded the mainstream but people must understand that Reiki Master Mikao Usui, the person who coined the technique was very knowledgeable in so many areas, he never stopped learning and this is what heightened his intuitive abilities and made his craft successful. The more we can continue to integrate a wide variety of understandings about the human experience, psychological, physiological and energetic, the more robust our own offerings will become over time.

Wishing all the healers out there much success in building intelligent and unique systems to offer the world. You’re unique medicine is needed, we’re all playing an integral role in the health of the whole.

BLASTING LOVE!
